Could You Live in a Lighthouse?
Oh, I Could! I Could! Look at the Interior Living Photos!
I would LOVE to live in a lighthouse with Robert and I as lighthouse keepers. We are naturally private and we value our autonomy. I’m perfectly content writing and working online. He’s an Author and an Astrologer who does readings for people all over the world, also through programs online.
Lighthouse keepers would have been the perfect retirement job for us. From what I’ve read, most of the lighthouse posts were four weeks on, two weeks off and paid by the Federal Government ($47,000/year). However, with the advent of automation, it gradually made the traditional lighthouse keeper unnecessary.
Today, all lighthouses in the U.S. are automated, with the exception of the Boston Light, the oldest lighthouse in the U.S. (1716), in the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area.
Have you ever wondered what living quarters might look like inside a lighthouse? Some were obviously too small for anything more than storing necessary equipment for running the lighthouse and the light. But others were much larger and very appealing.

The living quarters are small, or roomy, depending on the size of the lighthouse, but all seem quaint and something I know Robert and I could easily get used to. I had no idea the living quarters of a lighthouse would be this nice.
Something interesting: I’ve read that all lighthouses are haunted —-some they say by pirates! That’s intriguing and it only makes me love them even more.
I hope you enjoyed these photos as much as I have.

A wonderful place to welcome a storm ⛈️ 😊
That looks like fun? Don't some light houses have a house next to them or nearby? Do you know anything about "Lucy", the elephant in New Jersey? She is not a lighthouse but she has been restored inside and out and you can stay there. (Like a Hotel, I think).
