I have always heard that each of us has a twin somewhere ‘out there’. Some people use the word, ‘doppelganger’. Still others insist on calling someone who looks like another person a ‘dead ringer’.
Whatever your descriptive word is, I would love to meet mine. Truth is, I would love to know that I even have a doppelganger/twin/dead ringer. The closest I’ve ever come is when a couple of people told me years ago I looked like Suzanne Pleshette, an actress from the 60s and most notably, The Bob Newhart Show in the 70s.
I’m on the left and Suzanne is on the right:
On the below composite, Suzanne is the first one. I’m on the right.
Personally, I only see a very vague resemblance.
I think my love/life partner, Robert, looks very much like Charles Durning, a well-known character actor from movies and TV.
The one on the left is Robert. On the right is Charles Durning.
Can you see the resemblance?
I asked Robert if he could see a similarity. He told me he could, but rather than share his looks, he would rather share the actor’s income …
I would love to know if you have a doppelganger! Would you care to share any photos you have of the two of you side by side?

I met my double dipper in the grocery store a fellow I saw around the corner, amazed at resemblance and he was wearing almost the same style clothes as me. I waited until he checked out first. The I’m asked by another if I’n an actor and I said yes I have performed in a few scenes. That’s when I took the cue, closed the curtain. Not quite a horror story, more of an Alfred Hitchhiker story.
I may have a twin somewhere! Some people mistook me for someone else years ago! That's how my ex and I met! He thought I was this other girl!
