When Forrest Gump died, he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates.
St. Peter said, "Welcome, Forrest. We've heard a lot about you."
He continued, "Unfortunately, it's getting pretty crowded up here and we find we now have to give people an entrance exam before we can allow them in."
"Okay," said Forrest. "but I hope it's not too hard. I've already been through a test. My momma used to say, 'Life is like a final exam βit's hard.' "
"Yes, Forrest, I know. But this exam has only three questions and you can have the whole night to think about it.
Here they are:
1.) Which two days of the week begin with the letter T?
2.) How many seconds are in a year?
3.) If you could ask, what would God say His first name is?β
Forrest went away to think about the questions and returned the next day, confident he had found the answers.
St. Peter called him over. β"Now that you've had a chance to think the questions over, please give me your answers."
"Well, sir," said Forrest, "the first one is easy. Which two days of the week begin with the letter T?
Well Sir, that would be Today and Tomorrow."
St. Peter looked surprised and said, "Well, Forrest, that wasn't the answer I was looking for, but you have a point. I'll give you credit for that answer."
"The next question," said Forrest, "how many seconds are in a year?
Well, sir, that question was harder and I thought and thought about that. I guess theΒ onlyΒ answer would be twelve.β
"Twelve?" asked St. Peter, surprised and confused. βHow did you come up with twelve seconds in a whole year?β
"Well, sir, there can ONLY be twelve seconds in a year. January 2nd, February 2nd, March 2nd, April 2nd β¦"
St. Peter interrupted him. "I see where youβre coming from, Forrest. I canβt argue with it, so I'll have to give you credit for that question, too."
"And the last question," said Forrest, "What do you think God's first name is? This one was real easy, St. Peter, sir! Godβs first name is Andy."
"Andy?" asked St. Peter, in shock. "How in the world did you come up with 'Andy', Forrest?"
Forrest smiled. "Well, sir, I learned it in church. We used to sing about it all the time."
Forrest broke into song:
"Andy walks with me, Andy talks with me, Andy tells me I am His own ..."
St. Peter opened the gates to heaven, stepped aside, smiled and said, "Run, Forrest, Run ..."
