If you’re a senior, do you wish you had grown up today, or back in your own time?
I don’t think it really matters …
Time is relative. The more things change, the more they stay the same. The years on the calendar may advance; toys, clothing styles, and TV shows may differ; but children will always be children, same as always.
Like my generation and those before me, children of every generation all have the same questions about their world and growing up that we had of ours. They still play and pretend and work hard at trying on the grownup roles of adults they know and want to emulate.
So no, I don’t think it matters a whit in what era children grow up. Their fundamental needs will always be the same, too: love, respect, and gobs of affection from their parents. Add good values, morals, rules to keep them safe, guidance to show the way and prepare them for adult life, and a safe school system to teach the basics, so they can get into a decent college.
Whether I grew up back in my time, or today isn’t important. I Grew Up. Through these wise old eyes, it’s been a pleasure watching life unfold and move forward for my children and their children and I’ve loved being a part of it.
This would be a good time for me to use an overworked phrase, because the darn thing still fits:
“It is what it is.”
Life is measured in minutes and so is the time we’re given to enjoy it.

I loved the 60's! The Beatles! What more can I say? They had such an impact on my boring life! My feelings for them were all poured out from my writing!
