Life isn’t Always Fair
As I was having my coffee this morning, the bold aroma was combining with the even bolder taste and I had to smile. Why is it that on most mornings, it tastes good and wakes up both body and mind, but on some mornings -- like this morning, it tastes so much better? It occurred to me, that's how it is with most things ... nothing is ever in all ways good or in all ways bad.
All through life, we’re bombarded with all sorts of happy new beginnings, middle joys for as long as they last, and inevitable endings --some we were ready for, and some were just plain sad.
It isn't really fair, but then no one ever said life has to be fair. Nothing is supposed to be fair and last forever. Life is what we make it …
There’s a quote I love by Cherralea Morgen and it’s one of my favorites. It goes like this,
"Life’s not always fair. You can even get a splinter sliding down a rainbow."
I could just as easily apply that reasoning to my coffee this morning. As great as it tastes and smells, if I spill it, it’s a sure bet it will burn me.
It all neatly translates into having to take a little bad with the good in most things. Although, I walked away from two marriages where that little factoid was flawed and eventually even backwards.
Thank God Mama understood: "Honey, you have to do what's right for you, no matter what anyone says. It’s your life."
(Thank you, Mama). Thank God, nothing is all bad all the time ...
I hope you treat yourself to a nice day today and do something you WANT to do -- not something on your 'to do' list. If you found out you were going to die today and you were only allowed one phone call, who would you call? What would you say? And why are you waiting …?
Life isn't a race. Slow down. Hear the music, before the song is over. Life might not be the party we all hoped for, but while we're here, we might as well dance ...

Sad but true, life throws curve balls! Loving the splinter quote! Made me chuckle! 😁
This is the true miracle and joy of life, isn't it? We can live for tens of thousands of wakeups but every single day will be unique. And yet, it's all ours, tied to our past, our now and the future. If life was always fair it would fail to amaze. Thanks for the ideas, CJ.
