When you reach a certain age, you can't help taking a long look at your life. Looking back, you see where you've been by searching for reassurances that you've lived it and acted in ways you can be proud of. Where you are now feels somehow like you're on hold and waiting for a kickstart to get moving again. Then you look forward with the hope of getting a glimpse of where you're headed and you wonder whether you'll still have time to make a real difference. I think I must have reached that 'certain' age. I've done my fair share of soul searching lately and this poem tumbled out, as the direct result. Can you relate? Overview of Life by C.J. Heck There comes a time in life when we all look back. We see goals met are more important than goals not met. Unreached dreams are still within reach, and we now have time to go after them. In looking back, many view love as, 'Is that all there is?' For the lucky, it’s forever. Our children are raised, and our grandkids are growing. We recognize through them, we're granted a second chance. There comes a time for us all when happily ever after feels less important in the long haul. We've found our real security lies in happily every now and then. At last we accept the me 'as is'. We're pretty damned good, considering, and we recognize the honest wisdom of allowing ourselves the gift of contentment. That time comes for us all.

Can I relate ? Absolutely !
Soul searching is something I spent the day yesterday, 15th, doing again. As I post my 100th issue, I have had to face some harsh truths, and soon I will have to accept more as my writing continues. Praying it does! The pain is just beginning as I have to face the whole truth. Continue soul searching; it's essential for a longer, happier life. Ollie G
