“ She very calmly held her index finger up so we could see. The sewing machine needle had gone all the way through her finger and it was sticking out on both sides, including her fingernail.” OUCH! 🤕
What a sweet memory C.J, l,guess the neighbours said, one of the kids must be hurt, when they saw your mum head for the alley 😊. As for her getting a needle through her finger, how painful. Ouch!
Love this! I was the “doctor” in our home. My youngest actually thought I was a doctor. I had no idea until she spoke about it one day. I, of course, cleared up the misconception. When someone was injured, I immediately felt panic. I had to climb inside myself for a few seconds to clear my head. Once emerged, I would then proceed as if I knew what the hell I was doing. But clearing my head, was a huge help.
You had a great mom C .J. , She raised great kids and nursed you all better out of love . Great memories for you . Hugs and peace to you , your family and your readers
What wonderful memories. I totally understand your mum’s reaction. She needed a second to calm herself before she could deal - and deal she did. What a great way to demonstrate self-regulation! 🥰
Lovely memory C. J. 🤗💖

We were glad to live that close to the hospital. We made a few trips over there in the many many years we lived there.
Ahhhh mommy !! Calm cool and collected. Until the crisis was over then look out 😮💣

You and Mama were alike, MissLadyK, only she headed out the back door to clear her head for a few seconds.
I’m sure you were/are a great mother.

Hello Mitch. She was a great mom —a little quirky, but that’s part of what made her special. Hahaha
hugs and peace to you, too, my friend.

I never thought of it that way —thank you, Trudi. I just thought our Mama was different. There was a legitimate rhyme to her reason. ❤️💕
Your mom was much smarter. I admired that about her when I read your memoir. I just stood frozen for a while.
Oh Kristin! I’m so sorry you had that experience. My heart is with you.
I thank you for your thoughtful comments. ❤️💕
