"invite"? Hmm, as in, "You're invited to buy a subscription..." haha. When money's involved, the pressure is too great for me to feel I have to give them their money's worth and then some. I know me--that's an "invitation" to stress out! Maybe someday, but... P.S. thank you for taking the time to explain how it works, C.J. Very kind of you. Hugs, ~cc
It would be no different than what I do. Do you think I offer people their money's worth, or not? Do I bug anyone about money? I just use the buttons they provide to do the work for me. I'm not in it to sell, my friend. I'm not a sales person either. People come here to read and they expect to possibly pay to read, too. Let me know and I'll help you.
That picture of Peter and the rest sure brought back memories--but for me, it was as much about the cartoon quality as the actual story. I loved Alice, especially, with all those colorful animations. I'm quite sure if I were a kid today, I'd be into all the anime that's available. But, my love as an older adult is still of Old School Disney-type technicolor cartoons. Versions of these stories using real people just pale by comparison--my imagination needs those richer-than-life colors in order to soar.
I do too! Old School Disney ... if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Listening to my grandchildren talk about movies and video games though, makes me feel like a loved but antiquated dinosaur.
Welll...that IS kinda what we are. I don't have grandkids to make me constantly aware of it but there are plenty of prompts that I see practically from the moment I leave the comfort zone of my beloved home-sweet-home. It's been like that for a few centuries, now. I don't think it was so much of a problem during the Stone Age. I think it all started when our tools and weapons became so advanced and efficient that it left us with too much time on our hands for using those same survival artifacts to create Art. From that came Innovation. That eventually morphed into Fashion which is just another word for Change--and that's when things really began to spin out of control ;-))
You have such an active imagination! You should be writing on your substack and I mean that. in the best way, my friend. I love how you write --it's with passion and imagination!
I didn't know that I had a "substack" that I could write on--you mean I don't have to "join up" officially? Where is my "space"? But you've never answered my question: Who will read what I write? Who will even know I exist on Substack? Inquiring Minds Want to Know. ;-)
You invite people from all your media and your friends at Quora. You can comp your family members and besties if you want to. Plus they give you all kinds of buttons to add to your posts that ask people to share your post, etc. You can also recommend others you know --they in turn will recommend you to their readers. You can do a free subscribe of other's substacks you've read and like and they will subscribe to you, as well. Come up with a name for your Substack Newsletter and get started! I will definitely send people to your substack and recommend you because you're a hell of a writer and they will appreciate your thoughts and feelings. I'm going to check out what you DO have right now. You might have to join up, but trust me, it's easy. You'll have to hook up your Stripe account, too, so you'll get automatically paid.
I have to admit that as a child I did not read many books that I can remember, unless my school work required it. I do remember reading the Hardy Boys Series and some Jules Verne. They did help to cultivate my imagination.
Knowing you like I do, I can see how the Hardy Boys would interest you. Those books were probably what developed your curiosity and reasoning behind your search for the Truth in all manners. Jules Verne is an AHA! that woke up your curiosity for things magical and for the otherwise unexplained -- Truth is often stranger than fiction and with the Universe, all things are possible.
https://substack.com/@mercrawldi That's you at the moment and when I checked, you already have several followers, too. Yeah, go up to the top of your page and click some of the buttons there. Look for one called settings. Settings will get you started ... follow down item by item.
I remember one of my favourites was Heidi, together with the story of Jesus Christ . Later was the adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
All great stories, Lexie.!
