I’ve come to the conclusion that feeling accomplished in life is the direct result of finding something you love with purpose and meaning and setting a goal. Then working hard to achieve the goal. That leaves you with a feeling of being accomplished in life.
But feeling accomplished in life is different, depending on who you ask and what their situation is.
In the extreme, to an Olympian athlete, winning a medal might be the ultimate goal after spending an entire lifetime of intense training to achieve that goal. When it is reached, that would be the greatest accomplishment in their life..
In the other extreme, to a homeless man, feeling accomplished might mean the difference between living and dying just by finding a shelter he can sleep in on a frigid winter night.
You would find me somewhere in between. My feeling accomplished in life would come from setting a few moderate, but important (to me) goals and working to achieve them, no matter how long it takes. Yes, I feel accomplished in my life. I’m very satisfied.
