“Do not let the memories of your past limit the potential of your future.”
― Roy T. Bennett
As humans, how do we stop feeling guilty over past mistakes?
Everyone makes mistakes. We can begin healing right now by forgiving ourselves. Then we can push our ‘Reset Button’ and move forward. Today is a whole new day.
I don’t care who they are, or who they think they are — if someone is blaming you, or me for something we did in the past, ignore them. No one is perfect. No one is immune to screwing up every now and then. That’s how we learn. But, no one learns by having their nose rubbed in the infraction.
We’ve all heard the maxim, “Hindsight is 20/20.” Things we perceive we did wrong in the past can have a way of haunting us, unless we let them go. We can’t go back and change things, but what good does it do to beat ourselves up over them?
The important thing is to learn from the mistakes. Look at them as lessons, challenges given to us so we don’t make the same ones again and again.
The past is just that. It’s past. We don’t live there anymore. We live in the present and our possibilities going forward are truly limitless …
“Though nobody can go back and make a new beginning ... anyone can start over and make a new ending.”
