There are no guarantees, of course, and who am I to say? But, I think it's pretty obvious that to those to whom you matter most and who matter most to you, you will be remembered, your words in stories, memories, and poetry will always be with them and their children, too. You won't merely be remembered, but you will be known. There are thousands of famous people who are remembered by the world, but does anyone actually know them outside of their names and particular claim to fame?

You're right in many ways. My life is pretty much an open book (pun intended) when and what I write. It's fun for me to know two of my daughters are subscribed to my Substack (I comped them) and I can see they are reading almost all of my posts. They are learning things about their mother they didn't know. (wink) They all live hours and hours away and when we do get together, we don't talk about things I write about. We talk about the kids, their jobs, etc., what Robert and I have been up to --it's sad, but we don't have time to dig very deep on "How do you feel about this or that kinds of subjects."
