I need reminding what day it is and sometimes the hour🤭 retirement is great! Not knowing from one minute to the next what’s going on is quite uplifting… yes no plans just keep doing what makes me happy 😅🌸
I love this piece, C.J. and I am at the stage between wanting to forget what day it is to looking forward to every day being funday! Roll on the holidays!💞
I always say I’m way busier in retirement than I ever was while working. My husband is still working I doubt he’ll
ever retire. But we do fun stuff every day or almost every day around his work schedule. Today we had four things. All social events. It was a bit tiring. I missed my nap!
First of all, thank you for that exuberant little mouse. And though Jeff isn't retired yet, we are anticipating the glorious, what-day-is-it lifestyle to come when he does. Thank you, C.J., for this reminder that the future is good. And your descriptions of each phase of life were right on.
Thank you for your lovely comment, Sue. Retirement truly is an “every day is Friday”. It’s so easy to forget the real day it is, or maybe, it’s that the real days just aren’t important any more because every day is a Funday.
You want to read the whole day long? You’ve got it!
You want to go to a beach and write your name in the sand? You’ve got it!
You want to order groceries online and have them delivered? You’ve got it!
You want to do a movie marathon of sci fi movies? You’ve got it!
The days belong to a retiree to do whatever he wants! You’ve got it!
So so true! it also becomes a second life only without a lot of the responsibilities of pre-retirement days. The only specters the shadow it all are money and health. So tip a glass of whatever to retirement.
I hear you, John, but we just need to spread ourselves a little thinner for more fun days. I love the freebee fun. Day on the beach, a drive at night to see Christmas decorations, Christmas movies on TV … enjoy retirement, John.
Yes, we’ve been doing this for 16 years now. Part of the fun is discovering books I didn’t know about. I’ll recommend two books by Leif Enger: Virgil Wander and I Cheerfully Refuse.
Life goal, every day is a fun day! I believe this can be true with the awareness of making this the reality!! Thank you
That is in retirement, Alicia. Every day is like a Friday, a fun day to do whatever you want to do.
Thank you for your comment.
Thank you for restacking my post, @Cori Bren

I’m so glad you enjoyed the post, Trudi! Thank you.
Yes, roll on the Holidays!
Oh CJ, you’re not retired 😲
You do so much uplifting and motivating here. It’s become your full time “job” 🙄
And you do it so damn well 😆
Thank you, Ken. That’s a lovely compliment! You are all my friends and there isn’t much I wouldn’t do for the people I really care about.
Is love a full time job? I don’t know, can love be a full time job if there isn’t any paycheck? (Aha! Gotcha!)
💕❤️💕❤️ Thank you again!
Not everything is paid with 💰💵💲🪙🪙🤑😉
Hugs work, too ... 😊😊

That’s exactly the way it is! I’m as busy as I want to be and like you, I love my afternoon nap. It’s refreshing!

Absolutely right and it’s why we do a lot of free things. We don’t have a lot of money. But there are so many free things to do that are really fun!!
I tipped my glass of root beer to retirement (wink)
Thank you for restacking my post, @Paul Whittenberger
My year is now a month of weekends and holiday, C.J.
“Tis good, eh?
I didn’t think you were old enough to retire, Paul.
15 years now!
Well, sir, you don’t look old enough.
77 going on forever
Yeah, you’ve got me by a year, Paul. I love being retired!
Are you enjoying retirement?
I have plenty to do, C.J., so but it’s all on my own time, when I want so retirement keeps me busy.
Being retired, I also enjoy my FUNdays. There are things to do, but not the same as when I had a job.
I hear you, John, but we just need to spread ourselves a little thinner for more fun days. I love the freebee fun. Day on the beach, a drive at night to see Christmas decorations, Christmas movies on TV … enjoy retirement, John.
That’s good advice. We’ve got Christmas decorations in our house and will host our book group Monday as we vote on books to read in the coming year.
Sounds like fun, books to read next year.

Good for you! Enjoy the FUN!
Doin’ my best, Christina. Thank you!
