You have two miracles from your marriage, even if you were too young. Love them, Mitch. Hold them close and love them.

I really like your substack, but this post in particular I don’t like that much. Because one of the first questions that came to my mind when reading this was “What is a good relationship?” My opinion of a good relationship is vastly different from what was discussed here, so already from the start you lost me. This is not a critique on your work overall, but this post was difficult to understand for me. I don’t comment on all the posts that I like though, so I think I should really specify this: I really like your work and your substack! You only see this comment and not how much I liked all of your other posts though…

Hello Kathy. Thank you for all the nice things you said about my posts. As to today's post, it was all about what makes a relationship fail. Here is the title: "Why Does a Good Relationship Fail?" The secondary tile under it was "There's not just one reason ..."

I'm very sorry to hear I lost you and it was hard to understand. Again, this was geared toward people who had a relationship fail and they wondered why it did. It was a tongue-in-cheek post, actually, and not at all meant to be taken seriously. Please give me another chance?

Thank you for taking the time to send me a message.

Ah, I understand now. Thank you for responding! I guess I just wasn’t the target audience. Now I know how to interpret it!

Both parties need to share the same bank account. Can it even be a partnership if they don’t? Seeing this more and more in the younger generations. No shared account = no trust. Hard to strengthen a relationship with separate accounts me thinks?

You are absolutely right, Jamie! No shared account would bring about a trust issue. Even if they have a shared account for paying bills, gas, groceries, things for the home, but each having a small separate savings account would b okay for incidentals like poker night with the guys, or a girls night out or lunch with friends. I could live with that as long as they have a joint account they both contribute to for the big items.

What’s your opinion?

Same! Somewhere along the way, there was a big push for independence, which I totally understand yet interdependence is the language of a relationship. But what do I know lol! I live in to the questions 🙏❤️
