“Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.” ― Marthe Troly-Curtin
As I do every year when January slips away, and before Punxsutawney Phil peeks out, I look for little wisdoms I’ve found to share with folks.
I’ve thought of some. They may seem redundant at first glance, but as you know, life gets involved, we get busy, we get tired, and then we tend to forget, or overlook doing the obvious:
Time flies by so friggin’ fast … faster every day. Slow down so you don’t miss something meaningful.
Take time to hug your kids and grandkids.
Have your picture taken with them, just because.
Tell them what you were like at their age.
Make a beautiful memory, with and for them.
Let your inner child out, shake the dust off, and play.
Make time every day to have some fun.
Blow a kiss to a child. Smile. Then catch the kiss they blow back.
Always reach for the brass ring. Enjoy the adventure it promises to be.
Forgive yourself.
Learn to accept apologies you waited for, but were never given.
When you look in a mirror, remember what you see. One day, it won't be you, only an older person in front of the remembered you.
You start to think more about the Hereafter. You go into a room, scratch your head and ask, “Now, what did I come here after?”
Be yourself, the real you. It will set you free. No more wondering which you was visible that day.
Every day you are grass-side-up and alive is a good day … so go on, enjoy life and have some fun.
I guess I did have a few things to pass on. I’m sure you already knew everything on my list, but as I said, life gets involved, we get tired, and then we tend to forget.
What’s sad is knowing we should do something important, but we put it off for tomorrow … and with tomorrow, it all begins again. I don’t want any of us to someday look back and ask,
“Why didn’t I …”

When you are a kid time just as slow as can be. As you are older it’s faster and faster. That’s what I have found true in my life. ⏰
