We called the veterinarian to ask and he said even if the nest was put back in the tree, it was doubtful the parent robins would accept the baby back.

The vet said to bring the baby bird to the office after it got out of the shell. They have tools and equipment to nurse the baby bird, we didn’t.

That’s what we did.

I figured a vet would say that , I worked for one a short time . All he said is very true , whether baby bird , or baby animal in wild . Yet some with proper care can survive for a long time others can't , you brother did right thing . Hugs and peace

Thank you, Mitch. My brother did the right thing, but it wasn't what he wanted. He wanted to be the one who fed he baby and watched it grow up. My Dad and the vet convinced him it was the best thing for the baby bird though. Hugs and

peace.

As I remember, once the baby bird was out of its shell, Daddy and Tim took it to our veterinarian. They have ways of feeding tiny fledglings with droppers. Not only that, but what and when to feed them, as well. Tim didn't want to see it go, but Daddy convinced him it was the right thing to do for the baby bird.
