I love words, all kinds of words. Words have always fascinated me. Writers are often called “Wordsmiths”, because they skillfully work with words.
I thought it might be fun and interesting to shake down Webster’s for some strange and funny words. The sheer number of them surprised me. Some I had heard of, but since they aren’t commonly used, they’ve been included in this list.
How many have you heard before? As a Wordsmith, how many will you use in your writing from now on?

You know how buzz words flit from news media hack-to-hack and after everyone has had their turn at bat with them, they fade into oblivion soon to be replaced by another. The first time I became aware of this news "tradition" was back in the early '70's when the headlines were throwing the word Feisty about. Anyone who had even an ounce of fight in them was tagged as feisty. One of the words on your list, kerfuffle, was very popular among pundits a couple of years ago. You couldn't listen to political discourse for more than a few minutes without someone piping up with it as if it were the first time anyone had thought to use it. But it ran its course just like all the others and has since been replaced but, I haven't listened to those guys for a while now, so I'm out of the "loop," as it were. Nice "Diddle" List. ~cc
