Who wants to rush at my age? Most of my youth I was in a rush. Why was that you ask? Who knows, when we’re young, we think we’re the cats meow. We feel invincible in a way, not really putting enough thought into what we’re doing or where we’re going. As an elder, I realized how important it is to take a deep breath, and another and another. Life goes by in hyper speed, and we should never rush one thing. After all, who knows what we missed while we were rushing around. I loved my youth but more comfortable at 72, I know who I AM. Much appreciation for this CJ and hope the physical pain you endure subsides somehow. By the way, you’re right, we have definitely earned the right to slow down.
It is surprising who you find your self talking to (other than yourself, which I find rather helpful, actually) when you find you are no longer the fastest horse on the track.
Was thinking of line & waiting room conversations with children, teens, and 20+s. Just ask a few questions & listen a lot, but now and again they’ll ask or say something unexpected. I learn common parlance definitions that way. Got a dissertation one day on memes from two teens that was delightful; memes as a mental picture, or a video.
Takes time to slow your pace, to learn to see, and hear, & taste.
A couple of days ago I was walking on the sidewalk to enter the grocery store when a man in a motorized wheelchair arrived and I moved over to the right. He laughed as he said loudly to me, "I wouldnt run over an old lady." I was the one now who was laughing, and I still am as I write this. He helped me to see how others see me and that's ok.
Patricia, thank you for restacking my post!

You have a great outlook, Jo-Ann. Who knows, maybe we’ll pass each other on our nice and easy excursions out one day. I would like that.
That would be so wonderful!
I think so, too!
Didn't look at it that way, but you're right. We do have all the time and why not enjoy the stroll. Thank you.
Thank you, Sue. 😊💕
I'm with Grandma. Thanks
Hello David —I agree with Grand-Ma-Ma, too!

Can you be more specific, David?

Yes, Linda. That was an eye-opener to me when it happened, too. You were nice … I gave the eye opener a dirty look! 😁😁😂🤣😁
