Thank you, Trudi. The year contacts came out in my town, I was a sophomore in high school. Things were different for me after I got them. I remember I could see individual raindrops fall for the first time. I was awed.

Love it! My oldest daughter used to ask me that question. She was still a pre-schooler. And yes, she is beautiful….

Pretty means so much to us on Planet Earth. Your beauty inside automatically makes you beautiful on the outside. Ever notice that?

That’s very true. Pretty is ground into us every day through TV commercials and in magazine ads. It was extremely hard raising three self confident daughters when TV continually reinforced everything they needed to be ‘pretty’:

“use this so you don’t get wrinkles, this so you won’t sweat, this so your teeth are white, this so you have clean breath, this so you don’t get fat, this so your skin is smooth, this so you don’t get pregnant, this so your eyelashes are longer, this so you smell sexy, this to make your zits go away, yada yada yada …

Mama didn’t want us thinking about our outsides, just what was inside.

I remember one time being in line at the grocery and a lady Mama knew was in front of us. She looked at my sister and very quietly said, “Oh, Joanne, she’s so cute.” and Mama hurriedly put her finger to her lips, shook her head and said, “Shhhhh.”

… only what was inside.

How sweet, what a fabulous woman 😊

But it can backfire, too, vis a vis the poem. I was afraid I looked like the underside of a horse's tail ...(giggle snort)

🤦‍♀️🤣 … it’s funny, l can’t remember asking my mum that question … l am sure l did … l wasn’t at all confident about my looks … always dressed in jeans or shorts and t shirt, no make up etc … still like that 🤣. My mother always told the story that l started refusing to wear dresses at 3 years of age. She used to encourage me to put make up on but l only ever did that when l went to formal events etc. clearly, l wasn’t part of the pretty girl group at school 🤣

You were/are beautiful. I've seen your picture!

I just didn't want to be "bug-eyes" or "four-eyes" any more. 10th grade high school I finally got contacts.

You’re very kind C.J … l am embracing my deep laughter lines 🤣. I started wearing glasses in 10th grade. I used contacts for a while in my 20s but l was smoking then and galavanting in pubs so they dried my eyes out too much. Now l am just used to glasses 🤓🤣🤦‍♀️

Good morning C.J, I dreamt l was at a long table with other people but l couldn’t see them all. I don’t often remember my dreams in detail. Hope you’re having a good day 💜.

It’s morning? Did you sleep well with your table of people? Busy day. I have my youngest coming on the 9th if this doggone tropical storm doesn’t make a problem. Have cleaning to do …yuck.

You’re a good friend, too, Mitch. 💕

Aha, you saw that nasty storm that’s bearing down on us … yeah, we’re watching it, too. It might disrupt some important plans for us.

My birthday is August 10 and my daughter from North Carolina is flying into Florida on the 9th to be here for my birthday. I’m crossing my fingers, my toes, and my eyes that the storm will just disappear …

hugs and peace, Mitch

A fellow Leo! Excellent! Leos are good people! Thank you for all you’re doing. ❤️💕

My family is scattered all over. A daughter and family live in New Hampshire, her oldest and his girlfriend are in North Carolina. My oldest daughter and her family are in New York, and my youngest, the one who is coming down, and her family live in North Carolina.

My siblings all live in Ohio —Robert’s dad and siblings are all still in the hometown we’re from in Ohio. I have cousins in Kentucky and Wyoming, too.

I don’t see them all too often.
