Wonderful! I was trying to guess who the semi-handsome stranger might be and Mr. Alda never occurred to me. I don't know why not--if anyone in Hollywood is likely to do something nice for strangers it would be him. Such a great guy. Was his friend also one of the members of the cast?
His friend had to be an actor, too, but none of us saw him anywhere in the MASH cast, so it must have been another show run by the same studio. All I can remember about him now is coal black hair and a goatee and he was short, a lot shorter than Mr. Alda.
