It’s hard to believe it’s November already. Thanksgiving is almost upon us and next month will bring Christmas again. (I’m not complaining. It’s my favorite part of the year), BUT, Time just keeps racing forward and nowhere is it as manipulated, or as obvious as during these two months —and I can prove it.
I’m not sure how or when they did it, but there is a Time Speed Warp. I’ve discovered it wedged in between Time as a child experiences it and Time the way grownups do. It always seems to be more pronounced and more noticeable at this time of year. You have to look really hard to see it.
When I was a child, holidays took forever to get here, especially Christmas. I’ve studied it and I’ve decided, for kids, there are easily twice as many days in November and December than any other months.
There is no other reasonable explanation that makes any sense. Starting in November, my parents and those of my friends, all began racing around trying to get things done because, for them, there was ‘never enough Time’.
Do you see what I mean? Time is way too fast for grownups but way too slow for kids, who have to sit around waiting. After the holidays, Time starts speeding up for children, slowly at first. Then sometime on or around age 30, Time picks up more speed every year, until it reaches my age.
By the time Time gets here, I’m seriously convinced whole months surreptitiously get ripped right out of a senior’s year — but understand, I’m still working on the time warp issue from this end. Maybe pages get ripped right off the mainframe Time calendar, I don’t know yet. What I do know, is every year goes faster than the last one.
If I’m still around five years from now, I wonder what Time will hold for me then. Will Time be speeding along so fast that every Today that comes will be a recycled Yesterday, repurposed, refurbished, and set to arrive on what is then called a Tomorrow?
… or maybe, just maybe, I’ll be passing myself each way coming and going but I won’t be aware of it because I’m so damned forgetful …

Time, like an ever flowing stream......and then waking up to realize the clock fiddlers were at it again, and now, because we don't change clocks twice a year, they thought they had an extra hour this morning. Who's kidding whom? You're not in charge of time because you change and set your clocks. You're not in charge of November or next year. And that's probably a good thing!
You’ll be around the 5 years, maybe longer. The world needs to keep its good people.

“Time is wastin', time is walkin'
(Time, time) You ain't no friend of mine
(Time, time) I don't know where I'm goin'
(Time, time) I think I'm out of my mind...
Thinkin' about time
And if I die tomorrow, yeah
Just lay me down to sleep”
