I love this story. Our yard is filled with trees, many which we planted.

Thank you for your support, Harley, and for restacking my story. Do you have any favorite trees with their own interesting backstory?

I love maple trees and pin oaks. We have a large pin oak in our back yard. I have never spent much time climbing trees. I love the Ents that Tokien wrote about. I have learned that trees communicate through their roots.

I can believe that about the roots. Their roots must get entwined with many other tree roots down there.

Fascinated by trees. Have heard - The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben is a fantastic book.

CJ, Well done. This line seems to apply to more than the old man in the tree.. Whatever it was, it didn’t deserve such a harsh punishment. - D

Thank you, Dave. Losing the tree was like losing a close friend. ❤️

Beautiful story, I love it! I grew up in the country and I was intimate with several big trees, but the walnut tree in our back yard was my favorite. I had every branch and curve memorized. Even today I can still visualize its stately and grand appearance. 🌳

Thank you for your kind words about my post. I love it when I meet another tree lover! They do seem to have their own appearance and personality.

Yes I love trees! When I bought my home my decision was based on the number of big trees surrounding the property. I love watching my cats climb in them, exploring every branch and Avenue. 🐱 🌳

Yes! Cats love to climb ... and climb and climb. (wink) The tomboy in me has to be able to climb them, but I've never found one as perfect as that old gnarly apple tree though. 🤍
