C.J., that is a wonderful poem and the little prologue you wrote to it set it off beautifully. It gave me an insight into the whole idea of getting a tattoo and especially a woman getting one. Bravo!
I adore this poem CJ and never thought of you as a woman with a tattoo. Being a catholic school girl from my day, they taught us that our body was our temple and not desecrate it. Therefore, I haven’t pierced ears never mind a tattoo. Now we can talk about “conditioning”…mention that one to Robert. 🤣
Jo-Ann, had I not told you, you wouldn’t even know I have one. It’s way, way out of sight. It’s on my lower, lower belly on the right side below my hipbone and even hidden by my bikini panties. I have one for what it stands for, not for how cute it is.
Many years ago, in my 30s, I got my one and only tattoo. It's a tiny ❤️. My little sister had one, and I loved it. We both got it in the same place. Hers is a little higher, and can be seen. I chose to have mine done a little lower, both on our chests. On the left side. Funny story goes with it. Prior to getting the tattoo, I asked my sister if it would hurt much. She replied no, piece of cake. So off we went. Even though it was very tiny, it had to be filled in with red dye. Needles to say, she lied. As I was squirming in the chair I asked her why did she lie to me. Without missing a beat, she says. Remember when I was in labor and I asked you if the labor pains would get worse, and you said, no sis, the pains are just like period cramps. Ha ha I gotcha.
Kool tattoo! I had a boss who got a rose as her only tattoo. I never asked what it meant to her. Now me, I don’t want anyone sticking me with needles. Good post, C.J.
You certainly have more courage than I do, CJ! I didn’t get my ears pierced until I was 20!
Carole, I’ve been called courageous before —thank you!
Soul sisters! A couple years ago I got my first and only tattoo of a small hummingbird on my wrist to remind me to find joy in the every day.
We really are soul sisters, Heidi. I would love your hummingbird. I wasn’t that brave to have a tat that showed. Kudos!
Joy! Joy! Joy!

Thank you, Sandy. I’m glad it gave you some understanding. 😊😁❤️
I love my rose for everything it stands for.
Touching story and I enjoyed the poem very much😊

I’m so glad you like the poem, Jo-Ann. Thank you!
I think it’s wonderful that you have a tattoo, pretty cool!
Thanks, Jo-Ann … it’s pretty hidden though!! That was 30 years ago now.

I love the story of your heart tattoo! I love my tiny rose, too, especially for what it represents of my life.
Thanks, Kathleen! Thank you, too, for the restack!
