One of the sweetest memories I have of childhood is sitting at the breakfast table, anxiously pouring my Rice Krispies into a bowl with milk. I wanted to hear Snap, Crackle, and Pop talking to me.
Would they be arguing, or laughing this morning? Or maybe, they were going to tell me what kind of day I would have at school. Yeah, that would be helpful.
My five siblings and I loved making up possible scenarios where the Rice Krispies little guys would get flustered and their tongues would get all tangled up. If that happened, what might they say instead of “Snap, Crackle, Pop?”
Each of us shared our ideas and we giggled and laughed until our sides ached, sometimes all the way to school.
“Snack, crapple, pok”
“Pock, snackle, cramp”
“Slam, pockle, crap”
“Slap, crample, kop”
“Pack, snickel, ponk”
“Plack, spickle, klomp”
“Plink, spackle, plonk”
Dear Rice Krispies,
Thank you for the sweet, sweet memory …

Cute! I used to love Frosties! But they didn't talk. I mean, they apparently roared, but I never heard a peep.
Haha. Your posts are always so much fun, C.J.!
