Erma was one of my Mom's favorites. Both were Ohio "girls" and lived not far from one another and met only once or twice as I recall. My Mom was a big fan and listened to her and read her columns out loud. So, I grew up knowing her name. Some years ago, my wife attended the Erma Bombeck Writing Workshop at the University of Dayton. Erma's book, "The Grass is Greener Over the Septic Tank" is a classic.
I’m a Buckeye, too, Gary. My mom was a fan as well and always read her columns to us and I loved her humor. What was so great was, even with the humor, her columns always had a warm and fuzzy charm to them that touched your heart.
