Thank you, Cesca. Yes, it’s sad. So is real life at times. No one escapes from it. The trick is to remember nothing bad lasts forever and to wait it out.
...thirty years after marrying the only woman I had ever known we divorced and it was my own doing. One night I even tasted the barrel of a shotgun but knew somebody would have to see that. I got over the remorse and sorrow. Things go south again later...
We can only live now so dwelling on times gone by is fruitless. New things come and nothing remains as it was. Happiness is always there though sometimes we are blind.
I don't know about unexpected. When a man gets to the point where he's crying, he's at the ragged edge of the bottom and up looks like an impossible climb. A lost of that magnitude requires the arms of his lover around his shoulders, but she's gone.
Uffff… heartbreaking.

hugs,
I almost forgot it was fiction! In fact, I did for a fleeting moment when I was about to message you with my sympathies...
That’s a great compliment, Carol. Thank you! That means a lot to have a story come across as that real.
Many thanks!
Marvin Gaye did a whole album about divorcing his first wife, "Here, My Dear", and it sound like he did plenty of crying getting it together.
Good for Marvin! Crying is cleansing for everyone, men included. Thank you, David.
He always sounded like all masculine emotions personified. It's probably why he's my favorite singer.
Nothing wrong with that, David.

Thank you for your honest, heartfelt thoughts, Avery. I’m sorry things didn’t work out for you.
It's a'ight. I'm blessed. Life swings back and forth. I'm not just blessed but also charmed.
You’re very fortunate then. Most people are one or the other, but you are both. I’m glad to meet you.
OMG! that was a punch in the gut.
Unexpected, right?

That is a profound observation, Sue, and one I will have to give some thought to. Thank you for your thoughts.
what a heartbraking story
Yes, it is sad, Rolando. Thank you for commenting.
Sometimes tears are all there is.
That’s so true. Thank you for pointing that out.
Heartbreaking
Thank you, Jane.
You're welcome!
