Love this poem C.J; a ‘l know who l am’ statement, stirs the feminist in me … and the sweet suggestion of lusciousness at the end makes this feminist smile.

My girls are somewhat embarrassed that "Mom" writes the way she does sometimes ... moms aren't supposed to be passionate or have sexy feelings ... horse pucky, ladies!

I know they will read this because when I joined Substack, I comped all three subscriptions to both of my substacks and this post was to explain to them about my being a poet AND a woman/lady. I'm normal -- I have desires, too, and I do enjoy writing about my feelings, no matter where they take me in mind and imagination.

I'm glad the poem resonated with you, sweet lady! Thank you for your supportive comments!

Love,

CJ

And l am sure your daughters love you for breaking down the archaic conditioning of society that ‘mothers’ loose their sexuality 🥰.

Your poem took me to the first poem l wrote after John died … to the middle stanza, reflecting on exactly where your poem leads to; the passion being the culmination of the deep soul connection made before the bedroom door closes. 🤗💜

This touched me deeply, Simone. May I ask, when did John die? What year?

Hi C.J, John died in 2019. My post ‘The Event of Dying: An Act of Intimacy’ (posted on April 17) will give you context and includes the poem l mentioned. As will another post, ‘Intimate Acts After Dying: A Synchronicity of Soulful Signs’, posted on May 23 🙏🥰💜

Thank you. I will read them later today. It's Robert's birthday today and we've been watching a couple of his favorite movies. I should get back to them ...
